Foundation for Puerto Rico (FPR) is a 501(c)(3) public charity founded in 2011 that promotes opportunities for social and economic development in Puerto Rico mostly focus on promoting the visitor economy and transforming Puerto Rico as a destination for the world.
The first look at the results of our Bottom Up Destination Recovery Initiative: Orocovis
On June 13th, 2018, after months engulfed in Orocovis as part of our Bottom Up Destination Recovery Initiative, we presented the results of the first phase of our pilot. Known as the 'Heart of Puerto Rico', Orocovis is now better equipped to begin a destination-planning phase.

On May 2nd, 2018 we presented the “Visitor-Based Economic Development”, an investigation commissioned by Foundation for Puerto Rico to the firm Estudios Técnicos. In the event we discussed the key elements of infrastructure and an innovative model for the succesful economic development of Puerto Rico. As part of the investigation, the consulting firm proposed a new conceptual model that is based on six elements impacting tourism: Physical, Social, Institutional, Cultural, Knowledge and Environmental.
STABILIZING SMALL BUSINESSES WITH A GRANT PROGRAM
through a grant fund to mitigate the loss of businesses in Puerto Rico. The first stage of this grant program was started with a $50,000 fund to revive key commercial neighborhoods in Santurce, Aguadilla and Ponce. Given the popularity of the program and the ongoing calls from small business owners requesting aid, FPR expanded the program to more communities and sectors in Puerto Rico.
