Bottom Up Destination Recovery Initiative Preliminary Results
Foundation for Puerto Rico presented the preliminary results of its Bottom Up Destination Recovery Initiative’s pilot project in Orocovis, which aims to advance Puerto Rico's recovery efforts using the Visitor Economy as a key strategy to make the island a resilient destination. Specifically, when more people visit, invest, work and live in an area, the economic activity significantly multiplies resulting in economic growth in a long chain of industries.
We plan to scale the program to 24 additional communities throughout Puerto Rico providing business support, investing in social capital and helping them brand and market each destination. We are currently finishing up pour second pilot in Punta Santiago, Humacao.
